ALCANE is a company that specializes in the field of performance management and technical architecture of information systems. Created in 1992, ALCANE is privately owned by its founders and is independent from any software provider, hardware manufacturer or any other IT company.

ALCANE provides consultancy services to project managers at all stages of projects : appraisal, design, development, performance testing, switch to production and operation. Our missions mostly deal with critical information systems, critical on both accounts of performance and availability.

We aim to improve service levels and reduce costs.

Performance Management

• Technical Benchmarking: (servers/networks sizing appraisal, stress testing, non-regression testing, comparisons between suppliers,...) : Benchmark specification, benchmark operation and/or result audit.
• Integrated multi-layer (OS, RDBMS (ORACLE-SYBASE-INFORMIX), network, application) performance audit. Proactive or reactive tuning in all types of architecture.
• Quick solving of performance crisis (Using specialized methods and tools)
• Creation of Performance Management cells (Project support, pre-production testing, non-regression testing, follow-up when in production, setting of dashboards and service level agreements (SLA).
• Technological survey of the performance improvement of products from the main hardware and software vendors, help with system selection and sizing.

Technical Architecture

• Design of technical architectures for n-tier distributed systems especially for critical systems (high throughput, high availability).
• Feasibility studies and risk assessment (migration, redesign, system distribution or concentration, cost reduction, risk analysis, high availability.)
• Development of prototypes (architecture validation, feasibility check,...)
• Technological choices (tender design, search for suppliers, analysis, ...). Product technical study (features, performance, resilience, architecture, scalability)
• Mise en production (conseil sur la méthode, assistance à la mise en œuvre)
• System administration (Initial assistance, choice of solutions)
